Water accidents can happen in an instant. Protect your child now.

Sea Star ISR specializes in life-saving swim lessons for children aged 6 months to 6 years in Fort Collins, Colorado.

What is ISR?

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is the global leader in survival swimming instruction, teaching life-saving self-rescue skills to children 6 months to 6 years old. With over 55 years of research and development and the industry's highest safety standards, we've delivered more than 19 million lessons, helping children build both safety skills and confidence in the water.

Our mission is clear: "Not One More Child Drowns." While we strongly advocate for pool fences, alarms, and active adult supervision, we recognize that these traditional safety measures aren't enough on their own. ISR's innovative approach puts children at the center of drowning prevention. With over 450,000 graduates and hundreds of documented survival stories, we've proven that children can learn to save themselves.

Our method works because we understand that children are naturally curious and capable. Rather than rely solely on barriers, we equip them with the skills they need if they ever find themselves in water alone. We transform that natural curiosity into life-saving capability, creating confident swimmers and peace of mind for parents.

Meet Your Instructor

As a Certified ISR Instructor, my passion for water safety was ignited when my journey as a parent intersected with ISR's life-saving mission. Witnessing my 10-month-old son master self-rescue swimming skills – learning to roll back and float within seconds of submersion – transformed my understanding of what infants and young children can achieve in the water.

Drowning remains the leading cause of injury death for children under five, a statistic that fueled my decision to become an ISR instructor in 2020. After three successful teaching seasons in South Florida, I brought my expertise to Fort Collins in 2022. Today, I'm honored to expand ISR's presence in Northern Colorado, working toward our mission of "Not One More Child Drowns."

I specialize in teaching self-rescue swimming skills to children ages 6 months through 6 years, which could save their lives if they ever find themselves alone in the water. As both a parent and instructor, I understand the delicate balance of nurturing confidence while building competence in the water. Every child's success story reinforces my commitment to empowering families with these essential life-saving skills.

“Supervision has a problem in that every time their child doesn't drown, parents think their drowning prevention strategy is working.

Luck is not a strategy.”
